Shri Suneet Sharma IRSME (1981) presently GM- Eastern Railway, Howrah has been transferred and appointed as Chairman & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Railway Board, Ministry of Railway vice Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav.
Shri Suneet Sharma is a Special Class Railway Apprentice (SCRA) Officer of 1978 batch and possesses strong technical background with expertise in various facts of working over Indian Railways. He has shouldered the responsibility in discharging functions at various levels, including Zonal Railways, workshops and Diesel Loco Sheds spreading over 34 years’ experience of working in Indian Railways. Shri Sharma is best known for introducing various administrative reforms including simplification of procedure for establishing new benchmarks in Indian Railways.
Sri Sharma formerly General Manager of Modern Coach Factory, Raebareli was also the DRM- Pune, Central Railway, Chief Rolling Stock Engineer (Freight), & Chief Mechanical Engineer (Planning) of Central Railway and Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, Diesel Locomotive Works, Varanasi.
Apart from attending different training programmes in various Railway Institutes, he attended training in Germany and France on “Railway Workshops Maintenance Practices and Costing Systems”, in Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA on “Advance Management Courses” and in RAI, Tehran, Iran on “Assistance in Loco Production In Iran”.
