Shri Jag Pravesh IAS (Uttar Pradesh 2018), presently Municipal Commissioner, Mathura Vrindavan, has been transferred and appointed as Special Secretary- Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department, Lucknow.
Shri Jag Pravesh IAS, a 2018-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, is an emerging civil servant known for his strong academic background and early exposure to public administration. He holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna, one of India’s premier engineering institutions.
Following his induction into the IAS, Shri Jag Pravesh underwent foundational training and field attachment designed to equip young officers with practical experience in district administration and governance. Between May and August 2019, he served as Assistant Collector in the Office of the District Magistrate & Collector, where he gained hands-on experience in revenue administration, implementation of government welfare programmes, public grievance redressal, and coordination with various government departments.
His academic excellence, technical expertise, and early administrative exposure provide a strong foundation for a promising career in public service and governance.

The Special Secretary, Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, occupies a key administrative position in the State’s efforts to promote sustainable development, environmental conservation, and ecological resilience. Functioning under the Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department, the office plays a significant role in policy formulation, programme implementation, and inter-departmental coordination aimed at balancing economic growth with environmental protection.
