S M Vijay Kumar IPS given additional charge as Joint Commissioner of Police – L&O, North Range, Hyderabad City
Shri S M Vijay Kumar IPS (Telangana 2012), presently Joint Commissioner of Police, Special Branch, Hyderabad City, has been given additional charge of Joint Commissioner of Police – Law and Order (L&O), North Range, Hyderabad City, Telangana.
An officer of the 2012 batch of the Indian Police Service, Shri S M Vijay Kumar has held important responsibilities in the Telangana Police. In his present assignment as Joint Commissioner of Police, Special Branch, Hyderabad City, he is associated with a specialised policing formation responsible for important functions relating to police intelligence and security coordination.
With the latest order, Shri Vijay Kumar will additionally take charge as Joint Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, North Range, Hyderabad City. The assignment involves supervision and coordination of law-and-order policing in the northern range of the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate.
The additional responsibility will require close coordination with senior police officers, field formations and other units involved in maintaining public order and ensuring effective policing across the city. His experience in the Special Branch is expected to provide valuable administrative and operational experience in handling the additional responsibility.
The latest arrangement is part of the changes in the senior police administration of Telangana, under which experienced officers have been entrusted with additional responsibilities in important formations.
Shri Vijay Kumar will continue as Joint Commissioner of Police, Special Branch, Hyderabad City, while also handling the additional charge of Joint Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, North Range.
