In a PSU news update, SJVN Limited, a Mini Ratna : Category-I and Schedule –‘A’ CPSE under administrative control of Ministry of Power, Govt. of India, incorporated on May 24, 1988 as a joint venture of the Government of India (GOI) and the Government of Himachal Pradesh (GOHP). SJVN today has 14 projects in India, Nepal and Bhutan of different capacities in different stages of construction/ survey and investigation, beside operation of two hydro and one wind power projects.

Achievements

  • SJVN Limited has been rated “Excellent” for the achievement of MoU targets during the last three years by the Department of Public Enterprises, Government of India.
  • SJVN has commissioned 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh on 16.12.2014.
  • SJVN has generated 8136 MUs against MoU target of 7850 MUs in financial year 2014-15.

Financial Performance of the year 2014-15

SJVN’s revenue comes from generation of power from its projects viz. Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station (NJHPS), Rampur Hydro Power Station (RHPS) and Khirwire Wind Power Project (KWPP). The key financials of the Company during the last three years are as follows:

Honours & Accolades (Recent)

SJVN Honoured with the CBIP Award of Best Performing Hydro Power Utility

 SJVN has been honored with the CBIP award of Best Performing Hydro Power Utility.   The prestigious award was presented by  Prof. Sanwar Lal Jat, Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Govt of India to Shri R.N. Misra, Chairman & Managing Director during a  function  organized by Central Board of Irrigation and Power (CBIP) in the Month of January.

SJVN’s Rampur Hydro Electric Project Awarded Gold & Silver Shields by Ministry of Power,  Govt. of India

SJVN’s 412 MW Rampur Hydro Electric Project has been awarded with ‘Gold Shield’ and ‘Silver Shield’ for early completion of Hydro Power Projects, by the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India.  The prestigious awards were presented by Hon’ble Minister of State for Power, Coal & Renewable Energy (I/C), Shri Piyush Goyal and received by Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN Shri R.N. Misra.  The Unit-5 of Rampur Hydro Electric Project of SJVN Limited has been selected for the ‘Gold Shield’ while Unit-2 has been selected for ‘Silver Shield’ by the Central Electricity Authority in the category of “Early Completion of Hydro Power Projects”.

Company’s CSR Policy & Overview: SJVN is committed to the concerns of its stakeholders and strives to maintain good standards of Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability in its business activities.  To meet this commitment SJVN will respect the rule of law, local communities and societies at large and it will make conscious efforts to enhance the quality of life and environmental sustainability through its CSR and sustainability programs.

The focus of CSR and sustainability programs is broadly in the areas of education, health care, sustainable livelihood, community development, infrastructure development, sustainability and espousing social causes.  The budget outlay of CSR activities for last three financial years is as follows :

Swatcch Vidyalaya Abhiyaan: To turn the dream of “Swatcch Vidyalaya Abhiyaan” of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India into reality Ministry of Human Resource Development on 01st of September 2014 exhorted all the Public Sector Undertakings to undertake construction of toilets in the government schools under their CSR Plans. Under the dynamic leadership and vision of Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power, Coal & Renewable Energy, Sh. Piyush Goyal, Power Sector PSUs were entrusted with construction of 1 lac toilets across India.

SJVN was entrusted with construction of toilets in the states of Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand.  As per targets circulated by Ministry of Power SJVN had to construct 2271 toilets in above said four states, while targets circulated by Ministry of HRD numbered these toilets 2156. It’s matter of pride for SJVN to announce that with the untiring efforts and wholehearted dedication of team SJVN we were able to surpass these targets. SJVN constructed 2357 toilets with estimated expenditure of around Rs. 23 crores.  The details of toilets constructed in different states is as follows :
