FICCI and GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group company, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to introduce an innovative, AI-powered Business Resilience Platform (BRP) specifically designed for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This strategic collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of sustainable practices and enhance climate resilience across India’s MSME sector. The MoU, signed under the aegis of the FICCI Centre for Sustainability Leadership, lays out a comprehensive framework for partnership. The Centre, established to guide businesses on their sustainability journey, counts Hindustan Unilever Limited and HSBC India among its founding members.
The BRP is a cutting-edge digital solution that enables MSMEs to navigate evolving global market dynamics. It supports businesses in improving data transparency, strengthening access to international markets, and leveraging green finance opportunities. The platform helps evaluate and mitigate environmental impacts, aligns enterprises with global sustainability goals, and enhances transparency across supply chains. By using structured data templates and dashboards, MSMEs can benchmark performance across 49 key indicators, unlocking growth potential and building investor confidence.
Key features of the BRP include readiness heatmaps to identify organizational priorities, peer benchmarking tailored to different industries, structured data dashboards for improved data quality, and a Resilience Scorecard—a standardized evaluation framework for unlisted and MSME companies aligned with both Indian and global norms. The platform also assesses future readiness, emphasizing sustainability disclosures, policy alignment, and green finance linkages.
Promoting Sustainability Through Roadshows
To launch this initiative, FICCI Centre for Sustainability Leadership and GlobalLogic conducted two roadshows in Gujarat under the theme: “Sustainability Readiness for MSMEs: From Awareness to Action.” The events took place in Vadodara (September 17) in partnership with the Vadodara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (VCCI), and in Ankleshwar (September 19) with the Ankleshwar Industries Association (AIA).
These workshops focused on capacity building, regulatory compliance, and practical application of sustainability strategies, including live demonstrations of the BRP. The enthusiastic participation of MSMEs at both locations reflects growing awareness of sustainability as a driver of resilience and long-term business value.
Leadership Perspectives
Ms Jyoti Vij, Director General, FICCI, said, “We are delighted to collaborate with GlobalLogic on this pioneering initiative that reinforces our commitment to sustainable business practices. Through the FICCI Centre for Sustainability Leadership, we are equipping MSMEs with the knowledge and skills to understand, measure, and manage risks and ESG performance. This partnership will further strengthen our efforts to balance economic growth with sustainability.”
Mr Piyush Jha, Group Vice-President and Managing Director – Asia-Pacific, GlobalLogic, added, “This collaboration addresses one of the critical challenges facing industry today—building resilience through sustainability. Technology plays a vital role in helping businesses anticipate regulatory changes, meet global market expectations, and stay competitive. By combining GlobalLogic’s digital expertise with FICCI’s sector insights, we are providing MSMEs with practical tools to navigate their sustainability and resilience journey, reflecting our commitment, as part of the Hitachi Group, to social innovation and environmental progress.”
The MoU and the launch of the BRP platform highlight a shared vision for creating resilient, climate-smart industrial ecosystems. Through co-creation of innovative digital tools, FICCI and GlobalLogic are driving a transformative shift in how Indian MSMEs engage with sustainability and participate in global value chains.
