Ms Surabhi Gautam IAS (Gujarat 2017) presently Joint Managing Director, Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), Gandhinagar is transferred and her services are placed at the disposal of Urban Development & Urban Housing Department for appointment as Regional Commissioner of Municipalities, Vadodara relieving Shri K P Joshi IAS of additional charge.
Prior to this posting, Ms Surabhi Gautam was serving as the Joint Managing Director at Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), Gandhinagar. Known for her clarity in execution and sharp administrative judgment, Ms. Gautam has shown a deep commitment to public service throughout her career.
An engineering graduate in Electronics and Communication from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bhopal, Ms. Gautam brings a strong technical foundation to her administrative work. Her education, coupled with her service experience, has shaped her into a versatile officer capable of handling a wide spectrum of responsibilities.
In her recent role as Director in the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), Gandhinagar, she worked on key women and child development initiatives, demonstrating a sensitive and impactful governance style. She also served in a central deputation role as Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports in New Delhi, gaining valuable exposure to national policy-making and youth development programs.
Ms. Gautam’s new appointment is seen as a step forward in her already promising career. With her balanced approach to leadership and dedication to public welfare, she is well-poised to take on the responsibilities of urban municipal governance in her new role.
