Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a Maharatna and India’s largest public sector steel producer, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with John Cockerill India Limited (JCIL), the Indian subsidiary of the global John Cockerill Group. The MoU, signed in Mumbai by Mr. Anil Kumar Tulsiani, Director (Finance), SAIL, and Mr. Michael Kotas, Managing Director of the Metals Division, JCIL, aims to harness the combined strengths of both organizations, including cutting-edge technologies, industry expertise, and a shared commitment to innovation and sustainability.
The collaboration focuses on key areas such as Cold Rolling and Processing for Carbon Steel, Green Steel, and Silicon Steel, including Cold Rolled Grain Oriented (CRGO) and Cold Rolled Non-Oriented (CRNO) steels. The partnership also emphasizes the integration of green technologies into iron and steelmaking processes, along with the adoption of advanced steelmaking technologies to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability.
