Shri Ravindra Prasad Jaiswal IFS (1999), presently Ambassador of India to the Republic of Sudan, has been concurrently accredited as the next Ambassador of India to the State of Eritrea. He is expected to take up his assignment shortly. Shri Jaiswal also heading Information Wing as Second Secretary at Cairo (Egypt) from 2001-2004; had stint as Second Secretary/First Secretary handling Political, Cultural, Information, Administration, Consular, Labour and Community Welfare work at varied times at Doha (Qatar) from 2004-2007; and looking after Political and Bilateral Developmental Partnership work as First Secretary at Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) from 2010-2011. Before assuming charge as Ambassador of India to Sudan and Eritrea, he was Deputy Chief of Mission in Embassy of India, Berne (Switzerland).
Shri Jaiswal as trainee officer in the Gulf Division from 2000-2001; as Desk Officer in the West Europe division from 2007-2010; and as Desk Officer and later as Director in the Southern Division from 2011-2014.He is a Civil engineering graduate from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and an M. Phil in Environmental sciences from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
