Shri Raj Kumar Yadav, a dedicated officer of the 2009 batch from the Sikkim cadre, has been appointed as Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Women, Child, Senior Citizen and Divyangjan Welfare Department, Government of Sikkim, following his tenure as Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Education Department. Known for his balanced administrative approach and commitment to inclusive governance, Shri Yadav brings with him extensive experience in diverse domains of public administration, having served in various key positions across the state.
A graduate in Physics from Maharaja College, University of Rajasthan, and a postgraduate in Public Administration from the same university, Shri Yadav’s academic grounding combines analytical precision with a deep understanding of governance and policy formulation. His career reflects a consistent dedication to public welfare and institutional strengthening.
Throughout his service, Shri Yadav has held significant responsibilities, including as Secretary, Department of Transport, District Collector and District Magistrate across multiple districts, and Additional Secretary, Finance & Commercial Taxes Department. His tenure in the Land Revenue & Disaster Management Department and Rural Development Department further enhanced his expertise in disaster resilience, local governance, and developmental planning. These experiences have equipped him with a nuanced perspective on both grassroots administration and state-level policymaking.
