Shri Piyush Anand IPS (Uttar Pradesh 1991) presently Director General- National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has been granted the Apex pay scale (Level-17 in the pay matrix) by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
Shri Piyush Anand, IPS (Uttar Pradesh, 1991), is presently serving as Director General, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Government of India, New Delhi. A B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, he joined the Indian Police Service in September 1991 and was confirmed in service in October 1993. Over his illustrious career, he has held several key positions and rose through the ranks—DIG in 2007, IG in 2010, ADG in 2016, and DG in 2024. Shri Anand has been decorated with the President’s Medal (2007), President’s Police Medal (2016), DG’s Commendation Discs (Silver & Gold), and the Disaster Response Medal (2025).
