Teacher’s Day was celebrated in a grand manner by NLC India Limited at Lignite Hall, Block – 10. The heads and teachers from all the schools in Neyveli participated along with their family members. Shri R. Vikraman, Director (Human Resource), NLC India Limited who was the chief Guest of the function appreciated all the teachers for their yomen service to the community and for extending their sincere efforts in enabling the students to achieve excellent academic performance. He also advised the teachers to follow a five pronged strategy viz., Encouraging the students to question more, Enabling the students to observe than simply looking; Motivating the students to move from Passive learning to Experiential learning; Encouraging the students to remove the fear and inculcate confidence in them and encouraging the students to learn by doing which will improve the efficiency of teaching. He advised the teaching community to induce the students to realize and think themselves about whom they are.
Earlier Shri R. Mohan, Chief General Manager / CSR, Education, Sports & Culture and Shri S. Vinayagamoorthy, Secretary, NLC Schools felicitated the teaching community.
During the celebrations 20 Teachers were honoured with Best Teachers Award and 142 teachers were recognized for their efforts for achieving 100% results in the SSLC & HSC Public Examinations in the academic year 2018-19. As part of the celebrations, a pattimanram was held with the participation of the students of NLC Girls Hr. Sec. School. Block – 11 on the topic “Contributions of Teachers and parents towards the development of the students” followed by individual performances of Teachers.
