Ministry of Water Resources appointed Nikhilesh Jha, IAS of MN; 1984 cadre as the first Mission Director for National Water Mission. He will be responsible for River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation plan.
The budgetary allocation (2015-16) of Ministry of water resources, river development and Ganga rejuvenation stands at Rs. 4,232 crore, the allocation for National Ganga Plan is Rs. 2,100 crore.
