Her first major field-level responsibility came as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Najafgarh (2013–2014), where she handled land revenue administration, law and order, and local governance issues. This role provided her with valuable grassroots experience and direct engagement with citizens.
She then served as Additional Director in the Education Department (2014), contributing to the development and implementation of educational policies and programs. Subsequently, she was appointed Chief Election Officer (Junior Scale) in Delhi (2014–2015), where she played a role in the conduct of elections and strengthening electoral processes.
A significant phase of her career was her tenure in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, where she held multiple responsibilities simultaneously from 2015 to 2019. As Deputy Commissioner of Car Nicobar, she managed district administration in a geographically challenging and strategically important region. In addition, she served as Secretary in the Agriculture Department and as Director in the Transport Department, showcasing her ability to handle diverse portfolios effectively.
Returning to Delhi, Ms. Bansal served as Deputy Commissioner in the Revenue Department (2019–2021), where she dealt with financial administration, land revenue, and regulatory functions. Her administrative acumen and leadership abilities led to her appointment as Commissioner (Food Safety) in the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) in 2021. In this role, she was responsible for ensuring food safety standards, public health compliance, and regulatory enforcement in the capital. She continued in this capacity at the Senior Administrative Grade level until 2024, reflecting her competence and trust within the system.
In parallel, she also served as Chief Vigilance Officer in the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIDC) from August 2021 onward. In this critical role, she oversaw vigilance mechanisms, ensuring transparency, accountability, and ethical governance within the organization.
From November 2022 to March 2025, Ms. Bansal held the position of Vice Chairman of the Delhi Agricultural Marketing Board (DAMB), where she worked on improving agricultural marketing infrastructure, farmer outreach, and market efficiency in the National Capital Territory.
In April 2025, she assumed the prestigious role of Deputy Director (Director level) at the National Archives of India, New Delhi. In this capacity, she is responsible for the preservation, management, and modernization of India’s archival records, contributing to the safeguarding of the nation’s documentary heritage and promoting research and public access to historical records.
