D Joel Davis IPS given additional charge as DIG – Zone-V, Yadadri, Telangana
Shri D Joel Davis IPS (Telangana 2010), presently Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad City, has been given additional charge as Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) – Zone-V, Yadadri, Telangana.
An officer of the 2010 batch of the Indian Police Service, Shri D Joel Davis has served in important assignments in the Telangana Police. In his present role as Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad City, he is associated with the supervision and administration of traffic policing in Hyderabad, one of the state’s largest and most complex urban policing jurisdictions.
With the latest order, Shri Davis has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of DIG, Zone-V, Yadadri. The zone comprises the districts of Suryapet, Nalgonda, Bhongir-Yadadri and Jangaon.
The new responsibility will require supervision and coordination of police administration across multiple districts. The DIG-level charge involves close coordination with district police leadership and monitoring of law-and-order and policing arrangements across the zone.
His experience in urban policing and traffic administration is expected to add to the administrative perspective he brings to the new assignment. Managing traffic policing in Hyderabad requires coordination, operational planning and close engagement with various policing units and civic stakeholders.
The latest arrangement is part of the wider changes in the Telangana Police administration, under which senior officers have been entrusted with additional responsibilities in various police zones.
Shri Davis will continue with his present responsibilities as Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad City, while also handling the additional charge of DIG, Zone-V, Yadadri.
