Smt. Kirti Chachra IAS (Assam Meghalaya 2021) presently Additional District Commissioner i/c, Bijni has been transferred and posted as Deputy Secretary – Department of Housing & Urban Affairs, Assam and attached to the Guwahati Municipal Corporation as Joint Commissioner.
Smt. Kirti Chachra is a diligent and promising officer holding a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Zoology from the prestigious University of Delhi, where she graduated with First Division, demonstrating academic excellence and a strong foundation in the biological sciences.
Since joining the IAS, Smt. Chachra has served with dedication and efficiency in district administration. Her first major posting as Additional District Commissioner in-charge (i/c), Bijni, saw her managing critical administrative responsibilities, where her commitment to service delivery and grassroots engagement earned her recognition.
In April 2025, she is transferred and posted as Deputy Secretary to the Government of Assam in the Department of Housing & Urban Affairs, and attached to the Guwahati Municipal Corporation as Joint Commissioner. In this dual role, she is expected to bring her administrative acumen and people-centric governance to urban development and municipal administration in Assam’s largest city.
