  4. Role in Cooperative Movement: The Union Minister of Cooperation highlighted that NCCF plays a crucial role in fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sahakar se Samriddhi’ (Prosperity through Cooperation). Under the leadership of PM Modi, the Ministry of Cooperation has undertaken several initiatives to strengthen the cooperative movement in India and boost the share of cooperatives in the GDP.
  5. Roadmap for Self-Reliance: Shri Amit Shah suggested that NCCF should prepare a 10-year roadmap to become a self-reliant cooperative institution, and he assured the Ministry of Cooperation’s full support in implementing this roadmap.
  6. Maize Procurement for Ethanol: The Minister urged NCCF to focus on the procurement of maize from farmers in Gujarat, Bihar, and other states for ethanol production.
  7. Digital Platform for Coordination: Shri Amit Shah offered the possibility of creating a digital platform or app for NCCF and NAFED, through the National Informatics Centre (NIC), to coordinate maize procurement.
  8. Export Opportunities for Pulses: He encouraged NCCF to explore export opportunities for pulses purchased from farmers and ensure purchases are made at Minimum Support Price (MSP).
  9. Cooperative Storage for Onions and Pulses: The Minister suggested that NCCF can collaborate with PACS for the purchase of onions and pulses and utilize the world’s largest storage scheme in the cooperative sector for storage arrangements.
  10. Exploring Export Opportunities: NCCF was advised to explore export opportunities for agricultural products and consider purchasing rice and exporting it through the National Cooperative Export Limited (NECL).

The NCCF Chairman, Shri Vishal Singh, assured that the organization would work towards fulfilling the targets outlined by Shri Amit Shah. The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Cooperation and NCCF. This address underscores the government’s commitment to promoting cooperatives and strengthening India’s cooperative movement for economic growth and self-reliance.
