Ms Girija Subramanian presently General Manager, GIC-Re, has been appointed as CMD in Agriculture insurance Company of India Limited with effect from the date of assumption of charge of office and up to the date of her attaining the age of superannuation (i.e. 31.07 .2026).
Ms Girija Subramanian, a Bachelor in Statistics with a Diploma in Computer Management from Mumbai University. She is also a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, London.
Ms. Girija Subramanian joined GIC Re as a Direct Recruit officer in 1988. During her 32 years of service in GIC Re, Ms. Girija Subramanian has spent 25 years in various reinsurance departments, primarily in Aviation, Life , Health and Property classes. She was involved in the setting up of the Terrorism Insurance Pool for the Indian market as well as the setting up of Life operations at GIC Re. Ms Girija Subramanian has also worked in the IT department during the SAP project implementation phase for 2 years and successfully completed the SAP Technical Upgrade project for the company apart from many other initiatives.
Since last 7 years, she has handled Fire Domestic Treaty and Non large facultative business, Engineering Domestic and Foreign treaty and facultative business, Broker relationship Management, Retro protection and global property business for the company.
