The government has appointed Divya Prakash Sinha,a 1979 batch IPS officer of the Manipur-Tripura cadre, special director with the Intelligence Bureau, as Secretary (Security) in the Cabinet Secretariat. The post had been lying vacant since November 2013 when Yashovardhan Azad, holding the post then, was appointed information commissioner by the government.
The move is part of the government effort to fill up key posts in the security establishment left vacant for months.
