Shri Bachanesh Kumar Agarwal IAS (Rajasthan 2014), presently Managing Director, Rajasthan State Cooperative Marketing Federation Limited (RAJFED), Jaipur, is given additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) – Rajasthan Handloom Development Corporation, Jaipur, Rajasthan (dt 12.12.2025).
The Rajasthan State Handloom Development Corporation Limited, originally established in 1976 as the Rajasthan Handloom Project Board and reorganised in 1984 as a public limited company under the Companies Act, 1956, serves as the state’s principal agency for handloom development. Headquartered at Hathkargha Bhawan, Chomu House, Jaipur, the corporation is mandated to implement and coordinate handloom development schemes, organise weavers and weaving units to strengthen production, and facilitate access to raw materials, credit, and marketing support. It also works to enhance technical skills and improve productivity by introducing modern designs, techniques, and innovations aimed at supporting Rajasthan’s handloom sector.
Shri Bachanesh Kumar Agrawal, born on May 15, 1969, in Sikar, Rajasthan, is a distinguished IAS officer, with over nearly three decades. He initially joined state services in 1997 and was later promoted into the IAS cadre of the state. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant with a B.Com and LL.B from prestigious institutions.
Shri Agrawal’s began his career as an Assistant Collector in Dausa in 1999, progressing through roles such as Sub-Divisional Officer in Dungarpur and Jaipur districts, Commissioner of Jaipur Municipal Corporation, and Collector & District Magistrate of Jhunjhunu. He has served as Joint Secretary in key departments like PHE, Social Justice, and Medical Education, and as Special Assistant to Ministers in Health, Industries, and Excise.
Recently, he assumed charge as Managing Director of RAJFED, Jaipur, on November 21, 2025, following his tenure as Chairman and Managing Director of Rajasthan Handloom Development Corporation (June 2025). He concurrently held additional charges as Director General of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Foundation (February 2025) and Commissioner for Disabilities and Child Rights (February-June 2025).
