Shri Ashutosh Singh IPS (Chhattisgarh 2012) has been appointed as Superintendent of Police (SP) in Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a period of five years.
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is India’s foremost investigative agency, functioning under the Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India. Established in 1963, it evolved from the Special Police Establishment set up in 1941 to investigate corruption in wartime procurement. The CBI is entrusted with probing complex criminal cases, economic offences, corruption, and high-profile crimes across the country. Known as India’s “premier investigating agency,” it operates under the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act, 1946. The agency also coordinates with Interpol and other international bodies, ensuring transparency, accountability, and justice in public administration.
