Shri Abhishek Anand IAS (Uttar Pradesh 2014), presently District Magistrate and Collector, Sitapur, is transferred and appointed as Special Secretary, Excise Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow.
Shri Abhishek Anand was previously serving as District Magistrate and Collector, Sitapur, where his tenure was marked by effective governance, efficient administration, and citizen-centric initiatives aimed at improving public service delivery.
An alumnus of the prestigious Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), Allahabad, Shri Anand holds a B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering, graduating with First Division and Distinction. His technical background has been instrumental in bringing analytical precision and innovation to his administrative roles. His academic and professional journey reflects a blend of intellectual rigor, strategic thinking, and a commitment to developmental governance.
In his earlier postings, he has served as Chief Development Officer in both Faizabad and Kanpur Nagar, contributing significantly to rural development, employment generation, and grassroots planning. His leadership in implementing rural housing and livelihood programs demonstrated a deep understanding of local governance structures and socio-economic priorities. As Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Kanpur Nagar, he handled land revenue management and district administration with remarkable diligence, ensuring transparency and timely resolution of public grievances. His brief stint as Assistant Secretary in the Urban Development Ministry added to his understanding of urban planning and policy execution.
Shri Abhishek Anand’s career in public service has been characterized by integrity, professionalism, and a forward-looking approach to governance.
