The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved in-situ upgradation of the following officers to the level of Secretary/ Special Secretary as a measure personal to them by temporarily upgrading the posts –
(i) Shri Arvind Mehta IAS (HP 1984), Secretary to the 15th Finance Commission in the rank and pay of Secretary to Government of India.
(ii) Shri Ajoy Kumar IAS (BH 1984), Secretary, National Commission for Backward Classes in the rank and pay of Secretary to Government of India.
(iii) Shri Bhupendra Singh IAS (UP 1985), Chairperson, National Authority for Chemical Weapons Convention, Cabinet Secretariat in the rank and pay of Secretary to Government of India.
(iv) Shri Anil Shrivastava IAS (MP 1985), Adviser, NITI Aayog in the rank and pay of Secretary to Government of India.
(v) Shri Sanjeev Gupta IAS (HP 1985), Additional Secretary, Inter State Council Secretariat as Special Secretary, Inter State Council Secretariat in the rank and pay of Secretary to Government of India.
(vi) Shri Arun Goel IAS (PB 1985), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Culture as Special Secretary, Ministry of Culture in the rank and pay of Secretary to Government of India.
2. The ACC has also approved re-designation of Shri R Buhril IAS (TN 1984), Special Secretary, Inter State Council Secretariat as Secretary, Inter State Council Secretariat in the rank and pay of Secretary to Government of India.
