Indian Bureaucracy News, New Delhi, September 03, 2025| Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has notified (02.09.2025) promotion of five State Police Service (SPS) officers of Rajasthan to the Indian Police Service (IPS) under the Select List of 2024. The notification, issued follows the approval of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in its meeting held on 21 August 2025.
The promoted officers who will now serve in the Rajasthan cadre of the IPS (in-situ) are:
- Piyush Dixit IPS (DOB: 29.07.1968), joined Rajasthan SPS in 1998, is presently posted as Additional SP – CID, State Special Branch (SSB), Jaipur, Rajasthan Police.
- Vishnaram Bishnoi IPS (DOB: 01.07.1972), joined Rajasthan SPS in 1998, is presently posted as Additional SP – Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), Jaipur, Rajasthan Police.
- Pushpendra Singh Rathore IPS (DOB: 12.09.1971), joined Rajasthan SPS in 2000, is presently posted as Additional SP – Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), Jaipur, Rajasthan Police.
- Kamal Shekhawat IPS (DOB: 28.11.1971), joined Rajasthan SPS in 1998, is presently posted as Additional SP – Development Fund and Modernization, Police Head Quarters, Jaipur, Rajasthan Police.
- Avnish Kumar Sharma IPS (DOB: 03.02.1973), joined Rajasthan SPS in 1998, is presently posted as Additional SP – Special Operations Group (SOG), Jaipur, Rajasthan Police.
These promotions fill five substantive vacancies in the Rajasthan IPS cadre for the year 2024, as per the provisions of the Indian Police Service (Appointment by Promotion) Regulations, 1955.
