Indian Bureaucracy, Lucknow, April 16, 2025| In a late-night announcement, the Uttar Pradesh government announced transfers in its senior police leadership, transferring eleven Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of the rank of ADG, IG, Commissioners, and SSP. This high-profile shake-up follows closely on the heels of recent transfers within the state’s Indian Administrative Service (IAS) cadre over the preceding two days, indicating a broader administrative realignment.

The transfers, encompassing Additional Director Generals (ADG), Inspectors General (IG), Commissioners, and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSP), include appointments to crucial wings of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), as well as key districts including Prayagraj, Ghaziabad, Agra, Mathura, Bulandshahr, Barabanki, and Baghpat. A comprehensive list of the transferred officers is provided below.

  1. Shri Neelabja Chaudhary IPS (UP 2000), presently Additional Director General (ADG), ATS, Lucknow, is transferred and appointed as ADG – CID, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Police.
  2. Shri Ajay Kumar Mishra IPS (UP 2003), presently Police Commissioner, Police Commissionerate, Ghaziabad, is transferred and appointed as Inspector General (IG) – Prayagraj Range, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh Police.
  3. Shri J Ravinder Goud IPS (UP 2005), presently Police Commissioner, Police Commissionerate, Agra, is transferred and appointed as Police Commissioner, Police Commissionerate, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh Police.
  4. Shri Deepak Kumar IPS (UP 2005), presently IG, Agra Range, is transferred and appointed as Police Commissioner, Police Commissionerate, Agra, Uttar Pradesh Police.
  5. Shri Prem Kumar Gautam IPS (UP 2005), presently, IG, Prayagraj Zone, Prayagraj, is transferred and appointed as IG –  ATS, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Police.
  6. Shri Shailesh Kumar Pandey IPS (UP 2011), presently Senior Superintendent of Police (DIG Level), Mathura, is transferred and appointed as DIG, Agra Range, Agra, Uttar Pradesh Police.
  7. Shri Shlok Kumar IPS (UP 2014), presently Senior Superintendent of Police (SP Level), Bulandshahr, is transferred and appointed as SSP – Mathura, Uttar Pradesh Police.
  8. Shri Dinesh Kumar Singh IPS (UP 2014), presently Senior Superintendent of Police, Barabanki, is transferred and appointed as SSP, Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh Police.
  9. Shri Prem Chand IPS (UP 2014), presently SSP, Police Recruitment & Promotion Board, Lucknow, is transferred and appointed as Commandant – 6th Battalion PAC, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh Police.
  10. Shri Arpit Vijayvargiya IPS (UP 2017), presently Senior Superintendent of Police, Baghpat, is transferred and appointed as Senior Superintendent of Police, Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh Police.
  11. Shri Suraj Kumar Rai IPS (UP 2017), presently Commandant, 6th Battalion PAC, Meerut,  is transferred and appointed as Senior Superintendent of Police – Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh Police.
