Shri Vikram Kesharee Pradhan, IFoS, is a seasoned forest officer whose career reflects a strong commitment to environmental governance, wildlife conservation, and policy implementation. With extensive experience across field and secretariat positions, he has contributed meaningfully to both grassroots forest administration and higher-level environmental policymaking.
Currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, New Delhi, since September 2022, Shri Pradhan is engaged in policy coordination and administrative functions at the central level. His role involves supporting initiatives that intersect sustainability, agro-processing, and resource management, reflecting his ability to adapt his environmental expertise to broader developmental domains.
Prior to his current assignment, he served as Joint Secretary to the Government in the Environment and Climate Change Department, Jaipur, where he played a key role in shaping state-level policies on environmental protection and climate action. His earlier tenure as Joint Secretary in the Environment Department further strengthened institutional mechanisms for ecological conservation and regulatory compliance.
Shri Pradhan’s field experience is particularly noteworthy. As Deputy Conservator of Forests in districts such as Barmer, Tonk, Kota, and Jhalawar, he was actively involved in forest management, biodiversity conservation, and community engagement. His role as Deputy Conservator of Forests (Wildlife & Plan) in Jaipur highlights his contribution to wildlife conservation planning and sustainable forest practices.
Beginning his career as Assistant Conservator of Forests in Sawai Madhopur, he developed a strong foundation in field-level forestry administration. Over the years, he has demonstrated a balanced approach—combining ecological sensitivity with administrative efficiency.
