Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) was incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956 with the objective to engage in the construction and operation of a greenfield Petrochemical Plant in Lepetkata, Distt. Dibrugarh, Assam. The plant was successfully commissioned on 2nd January, 2016 and dedicated to the nation on 5th February, 2016. GAIL (India) Limited is the main promoter having 70% of equity participation and the rest 30% is equally shared by Oil India Ltd.(OIL), Numaligarh Refinery Limited(NRL) and Government of Assam. BCPL is a Schedule ‘B’ CPSE with the administrative jurisdiction of Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Minisry of Chemicals & Fertilizers. Its registered office is at Guwahati, Assam. The Authorised Share Capital and Paid up capital of the Company was Rs. 2000 crore and Rs. 1402.80 crore respectively as on March 31, 2018. The company employed 620 regular employees [Executives 428, Non-executives 192] as on 31.03.2018. Further, 34 executives were on secondment from GAIL(India) Ltd.
