Uttarakhand to get Vidya Samiksha Kendras, 141 PM Shri Schools and 40 Bed Residential School

Union Minister for Education, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, along with Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, inaugurated the Vidya Samiksha Kendra and laid the Foundation Stone for 141 PM Shri Schools and a 40 beded Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Residential School in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The event was attended by senior officials, dignitaries, and prominent academicians.

During his address, Shri Pradhan highlighted that the Vidya Samiksha Kendra, a technology-based and data-driven model, will significantly enhance the learning outcomes of Uttarakhand’s 23.50 lakh school students. He emphasized that this model, previously introduced by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in Gujarat and extended nationwide after the introduction of NEP 2020, will now benefit Uttarakhand.

The Kendra will provide comprehensive data, including performance, attendance, content from the DIKSHA Portal, data from the District Institute of Education & Training (DIET), and 360-degree information on the state’s school education.

Shri Pradhan also underscored the importance of NEP 2020, characterizing it as a philosophical document for building a knowledge-based 21st-century economy. He commended the 141 PM Shri Schools as models for achieving excellence in education and highlighted the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Residential School’s role in supporting underprivileged children.

Additionally, Shri Pradhan praised the Chief Minister and Education Minister of Uttarakhand for introducing Research Scholarships aligned with the National Research Foundation, benefiting teachers involved in research projects. He acknowledged the state’s commitment to strengthening its education system and commended the State Education Department for implementing NEP 2020 and realizing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision.

Shri Pradhan also mentioned the global recognition of NEP 2020 during India’s G20 Presidency, emphasizing its potential to set a benchmark for students worldwide.

Later in the day, he attended the Amrit Kaal Dialogue at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies in Bidholi, Uttarakhand.
