Indian Bureaucracy News, Lucknow, March 09, 2026 | The Uttar Pradesh Awas Vikas Parishad (UPAVP), also known as the Uttar Pradesh Housing and Development Board, has relieved Shri Harinath Pandey, retired Principal Judge of the Family Court, from his position as Legal Consultant. The decision follows his appointment as Chairman of the Lucknow Claims Tribunal under the Uttar Pradesh Recovery of Damages to Public and Private Property Act, 2020.
Shri Pandey assumed the role of Legal Consultant with the UPAVP on December 23, 2024. In a press release issued here on Monday, the Parishad confirmed his relieving to enable him to take up responsibilities at the tribunal, which adjudicates claims for compensation related to damages to public or private property during incidents such as riots, bandhs, protests, or public commotions.
During his tenure, Shri Pandey contributed significantly to resolving key legal matters involving the authority’s property disputes, revenue concerns, administrative issues, and other institutional matters. Uttar Pradesh Housing Commissioner Shri Balkar Singh IAS, personally met Shri Pandey upon his relieving and extended best wishes for his new role.
