This celebration is part of the Qila Aur Kahaniya campaign, which aims to showcase the historical significance of forts in India and promote the theme of Cultural Pride. It pays tribute to India’s vibrant culture and history and honors the sacrifices made by unsung heroes for the freedom and future of the nation. The campaign has already organized events at forts such as Chittorgarh and Kangra, and upcoming events are planned at forts like Bithoor Fort, Mandu Fort, Jhansi Fort, and Kangla Fort, among others. These events are made possible through the collaborative efforts of key institutions under the Ministry of Culture, including the Archaeological Survey of India, Zonal Cultural Centers, Lalit Kala Akademi, Sangeet Natak Akademi, CCRT, Sahitya Akademi, and others.

The celebration at Golconda Fort specifically highlights the spirit of Telangana, as the state was officially formed on June 2nd, 2014, which is now commemorated as Telangana Day.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, initiated by the Government of India, is a grand campaign celebrating the nation’s remarkable 75-year journey since independence. This campaign is being enthusiastically celebrated throughout the country and has witnessed the organization of over 1.78 lakh events as part of the initiative.
