PIB News Update: Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot, Union Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment was the Chief Guest at the inaugural lecture of the Mahatma Gandhi Lecture Series organised by Dr. Ambedkar International Centre (DAIC) under Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment here today. The topic of today’s lecture was “From Mahatma to Modi: The Idea of India”. The inaugural lecture was delivered by Shri Makrand Paranjape, Director, Indian Institute of Advanced Studies (IIAS), Shimla.
Delivering his address, Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot said that people of our country should emulate the ideals, principles and paths shown by our great Indians like Swami Vivekanand, Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Education should be imparted to the people of country for overall development, he added.
Smt. Upma Srivastava, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and senior officers of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Dr. Ambedkar International Centre and many research scholars were present in the inaugural lecture.
