Chennuri Rupesh IPS appointed SP – CID, Telangana
Shri Chennuri Rupesh IPS (Telangana 2017), presently Deputy Commissioner of Police, SM&IT, Hyderabad City, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police – CID, Telangana.
An officer of the 2017 batch of the Indian Police Service, Shri Chennuri Rupesh has served in important policing assignments in Telangana. In his present role as Deputy Commissioner of Police, SM&IT, Hyderabad City, he has been associated with the administration of a specialised police formation dealing with important operational and technological aspects of policing.
With the latest transfer, Shri Rupesh will take charge as Superintendent of Police, Criminal Investigation Department, Telangana. The CID is an important specialised investigative wing of the state police, entrusted with the investigation and supervision of cases requiring specialised expertise and resources.
The new assignment will provide Shri Rupesh an opportunity to bring his experience in urban policing and specialised police administration to the field of criminal investigation. The role of an SP in the CID involves supervision of investigations, coordination with investigative teams and monitoring of cases handled by the department.
His posting is part of the wider administrative changes in the Telangana Police, which have seen several officers moved between commissionerate, intelligence, anti-corruption and investigative assignments.
The new responsibility represents an important shift in Shri Rupesh’s career, from a senior commissionerate-level assignment in Hyderabad City to a specialised investigative role at the state level. His administrative experience is expected to be valuable in handling the responsibilities associated with the CID.
