Dr. Tapati Banerjee assumed the charge of Director- National Atlas & Thematic Mapping Organisation (NATMO) under Department of Science & Technology with effect from 9th November 2016. Dr. Banerjee has a brilliant academic and professional record to her credit. She has acquired her Postgraduate degree in Geography in the year 1985 and doctoral degree in 2008 from University of Calcutta. She is qualified with NET of ASRB and SLET of UGC. She has also gained basic computer education. During her career she has been awarded with Vidyasagar College Centenary Scholarship in 1982 and Vidyasagar Centenary Medal in 1983 and National Scholarship in 1984-85. Her professional journey started in 1993 as scientist in Indian Council of Agricultural Research. She has joined in ICAR- National Bureau of Soil Survey and Landuse Planning, Kolkata in 1997 .
