Union Minister of Women and Child Development, Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani has informed that The details of funds allocated to National Commission for Women (NCW) during the last three years and expenditure incurred thereon by the Commission are as under:

State Commissions for Women (SCW) are set up by the respective State Governments / Union Territories (UT) and are not subordinate to NCW. They do not function under administrative control of either Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) or NCW. Funds are allocated to the SCWs by the respective States/ UTs.
The expenditure incurred by NCW vis-a-vis budget allocation shows that funds allocation to the Commission is adequate to meet their requirements.
