Sports Minister hands over citations & trophies to 3 National Sports Awardees

In a special ceremony, several National Sports Awardees who were unable to receive their awards earlier had the opportunity to finally receive their recognition. The awards and citations were presented by Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, at his residence.

One of the recipients was Indian shooter Anjum Moudgil, who received her Arjuna Award for the year 2019. Anjum Moudgil is an accomplished shooter who has represented India at various international shooting competitions.

Hockey coach Sarpal Singh was another recipient who received his Dronacharya Award for the year 2021. Sarpal Singh has made significant contributions to the field of hockey coaching and has played a vital role in the development of players.

In a touching moment, the family members of late tennis coach Naresh Kumar collected his posthumous Dronacharya Award for the year 2020. Naresh Kumar, who passed away earlier, was honored for his exceptional contributions as a tennis coach. His granddaughter Shivanie Mirchandani accepted the award on his behalf.

The ceremony provided a meaningful opportunity for these deserving individuals to receive the recognition they had earned through their hard work and dedication to their respective sports.
