SJVN Limited paid an interim dividend of ` 200.45 crore to the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh  holding 25.5% equity in the Company.  The dividend cheque was handed over to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Shri Jai Ram Thakur by Shri Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN Limited at Shimla.  The cheque was presented in the august presence of Ms. Manisha Nanda, Addl. Chief Secretary cum Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Sh. R.D. Dhiman, Principal Secretary (Power), and Sh. R. K. Bansal, Director (Electrical) SJVN.

While handing over the cheque to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Nand Lal Sharma informed him that Government of Himachal Pradesh has invested an equity of  ` 1055.01 crore and with this dividend payment, SJVN has paid a cumulative dividend of  `1463.96 crore to Government of Himachal Pradesh till date.

Shri Sharma informed Hon’ble Chief Minister that till date the two projects of SJVN namely 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station & 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station have generated around 1,00,776 million units of electricity, out of  which 12,093 million units of electricity have been provided to the state free of cost.  During current financial year SJVN has generated about 9000 million units of electricity from these two projects out of which 1080 million units have been supplied to the state free of cost.

Shri Nand Lal Sharma requested Hon’ble Chief Minister for active support of State Government in execution of Luhri Hydro Electric Project and Dhaulasidh Hydro Electric Project. Hon’ble Chief Minister was kind enough to issue necessary directions to the concerned authorities.

Sh. Sharma also requested Hon’ble Chief Minister to consider allocation of more Hydro Power Projects to SJVN in the State. He assured Hon’ble Chief Minister that SJVN has requisite competence and resources to develop Hydro projects. He further stated that this will help the State Government in harnessing the hydro power potential of the State, which in turn will benefit the state economically and socially.

Besides executing Projects in Himachal Pradesh, SJVN is presently executing projects in Nepal, Bhutan, Uttrakhand, Bihar and Gujarat.  SJVN which has already diversified in the field of Wind Power, Thermal Power and Power Transmission is presently having installed capacity of 2000 MW.
