6 Bureaucrats have been given in-situ upgradation to the level of Special Secretary in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India, as a measure personal to them, by temporarily upgrading the posts held by them:

  1. Ms. Anuradha Prasad IDAS (1986) presently Additional Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment as Special Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment.
  2. Shri Pramod Kumar Pathak IFoS (Kerala 1986) presently Additional Secretary, Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy as Special Secretary, Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy.
  3. Shri Jivesh Nandan IAS (Uttar Pradesh 1987) presently Additional Secretary, Department of Defence, Ministry of Defence as Special Secretary, Department of Defence, Ministry of Defence.
  4. Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh IAS (Madhya 1987) presently Additional Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research & Education & Secretary, Indian Council of Agricultural Research as Special Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research & Education & Secretary, Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
  5. Shri K Rajeswara Rao IAS (Tripura 1988) presently Additional Secretary, NITI Aayog as Special Secretary, NITI Aayog.
  6. Shri S K Dev Verman IAS (Manipur 1988) presently Additional Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs as Special Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs.
