Shri Shrikar Keshav Pardeshi IAS (Maharashtra 2001) has been empanelled as Additional Secretary at the Centre.
Shri Shrikar Keshav Pardeshi, IAS, stands out as a rare blend of administrative acumen and deep academic grounding in public health and public policy. With a distinguished educational background and a career spanning critical assignments at the State and Central levels, he represents a new generation of civil servants who combine evidence-based thinking with decisive governance.
An accomplished scholar, Shri Pardeshi completed his M.D. in Preventive and Social Medicine with First rank, after securing Second rank in M.B.B.S. His commitment to public systems was further sharpened at the global stage through an M.P.A. (First) from the Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University, and an M.P.H. (First with Distinction) from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University. This strong academic foundation has consistently reflected in his approach to governance—data-driven, reform-oriented, and people-centric.
Currently serving as Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister and Joint Secretary in the Personnel & General Administration Department, Mumbai (since July 2022), Shri Pardeshi plays a pivotal role in shaping administrative policy and personnel management within the State cadre. His experience in handling sensitive governance matters at the highest levels demonstrates his credibility and the trust reposed in him.
At the national level, Shri Pardeshi served in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) across multiple capacities—Deputy Secretary (2015), Director (2015–2018), and Joint Secretary (2018–2020). His tenure in the PMO coincided with a transformative phase in governance reforms, where coordination, monitoring, and implementation of flagship initiatives demanded precision and strategic oversight. His progression within the PMO underscores both competence and consistency in performance.
Earlier, as Municipal Commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (2012–2014), he led urban governance initiatives in one of Maharashtra’s fastest-growing industrial cities. His tenure focused on strengthening civic infrastructure, financial management, and service delivery systems. As District Collector and District Magistrate of Akola and later Nanded, he handled complex administrative, revenue, and law-and-order responsibilities with firmness and balance. These district postings were marked by responsiveness to public grievances and structured administrative reforms.
In his role as Inspector General (Registration) & Superintendent of Stamps, he contributed to improving revenue administration and streamlining processes within the Stamp & Registration Department. Earlier, as CEO of Zila Parishad, Yavatmal, and Assistant Collector in Kolhapur, he gained hands-on grassroots administrative experience—an exposure that continues to inform his policy perspective.
His brief tenure as Managing Director in the Industries, Energy & Labour Department, including association with the State Industrial and Investment Corporation Ltd., further expanded his understanding of finance and industrial development. Additionally, his foreign training assignments in Public Administration and Health & Family Welfare enriched his global perspective and reinforced his specialization in public health governance.
