Indian Bureaucracy, New Delhi, July 31, 2025 | Shri Shashi Bhushan Kumar Singh IPS (AGMUT 1988), presently Director General, Home Guards, Delhi Police, is given additional charge of Commissioner – Delhi Police.
Shri Singh, a 1988-batch officer and the senior-most IPS officer from the AGMUT cadre, brings over 30 years of frontline experience to his new role. His career has taken him through Delhi Police, RAW, and key postings in Arunachal Pradesh and Puducherry. In Delhi, he’s served in leadership roles across Karol Bagh, South, Northeast, and Central districts — giving him an insider’s grasp of the city’s pulse and its policing challenges.
He’s led the Economic Offences Wing, and, as Special Commissioner for Law and Order — one of the largest operational commands in the capital.
Shri Singh also handled security during major global events, including President Obama’s 2015 Republic Day visit and the Indo-Africa Forum Summit, hosting leaders from over 50 countries.
