REC organizes ‘Bijli Utsav’ in Meghalaya as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

As a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, REC Limited organized ‘Bijli Utsav’ in Mawsmai village and adjoining villages of Ribhoi district in Meghalaya. The event witnessed speaker sessions by dignitaries highlighting the consumer rights to electricity, the benefits of electricity, the challenges faced during electrification in remote areas, and how the quality of life improves with access to power.

Shri T Marwein, Ex. Assistant Commissioner, RI Bhoi District, Shri R. Kharwanglang, Executive Engineer, MePDCL, Anil Doloi, Secretary Dorbar Mawsmai, Petrus Shakwa, Headman Dorbar Mawsmai and other officials from MePDCL and REC Limited, regional office Guwahati has graced the occasion.

Beneficiaries from the villages are also invited on stage to share their experience and views on how electricity has transformed their lives. Various cultural programs are organized to engage with the villagers. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes among participants of cultural programs and the distribution of LED bulbs among Saubhagya beneficiaries.
