Rasaal Dwivedi IRS given extension as Private Secretary to Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas (Shri Hardeep Singh Puri)
Shri Rasaal Dwivedi IRS (C&CE 2011) presently Private Secretary to the Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas (Shri Hardeep Singh Puri) in the M/o Petroleum & Natural Gas has been given extension in the Central deputation tenure for a period of six months beyond 15.3.2026 i.e. upto 15.09.2026 by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
Shri Rasaal Dwivedi, IRS, is a distinguished officer of the Indian Revenue Service whose career reflects a compelling blend of academic excellence, administrative depth, and strategic exposure at the highest levels of government. An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, where he pursued his PGDM in Finance and Strategy, he was actively involved in leadership roles, including serving as an elected member of the Placements Committee. Prior to this, he completed his B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Raipur, where he distinguished himself as a student representative and Central Placements Convenor—early indicators of his leadership capabilities.
Belonging to the 2011 batch of the Indian Revenue Service, Shri Dwivedi underwent rigorous training at the National Academy of Customs Indirect Taxes and Narcotics, where he developed strong grounding in taxation, enforcement, and economic policy. His tenure in the Marine & Preventive Intelligence Unit stands out for its operational significance, where he led efforts to curb smuggling and safeguard revenue along a vast coastline. His work involved intelligence-based interventions, detection of misdeclaration and undervaluation cases, and interception of illicit goods—reflecting a sharp analytical approach and attention to detail. He also contributed to trade facilitation through data analysis and stakeholder engagement, balancing enforcement with efficiency.
