Ramesh Chand Tayal, an IPS officer of the 1980 batch from Assam-Meghalaya cadre has been appointed as Special Director General of Central Reserve Police force (CRPF).  Mr. Tayal is currently serving as Additional Director General (ADG) in the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). He has served as Additional Director General in CRPF and was awarded Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2011.
