Shri Rajive Kumar IAS (UP 1981) takes charge as the new Chief Secretary, Uttar Pradesh, before completion of his tenure as Union Shipping Secretary, of the state vice Shri Rahul Bhatnagar, who was shifted to Greater Noida as chairman, with additional charge of investment commissioner of Uttar Pradesh, in New Delhi.
Shri Rajive Kumar holds a Post- Graduate Degree in Physics as well as a Masters degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Harvard.
Shri Rajive Kumar has handled several key assignments in the State including Urban and Rural Development, Personnel, District Administration and a long stint in the Industrial Development Sector serving as Chief Executive Officer in several State PSUs. He has also held important positions in Government of India as Special Secretary/Additional Secretary in Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Joint/Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat and Joint Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance.
