Born on April 1, 1968, he holds a Master of Arts in History and hails from Bihar. His extensive experience spans intelligence operations, security management, and law enforcement administration.
Mr. Bhagat has held key positions, including serving as Inspector General of Police (IGP) in the Criminal Investigation Department (Intelligence Bureau) of Gujarat. In 2018, he was selected for central deputation to the Special Protection Group (SPG), an elite force responsible for the security of the Prime Minister and former Prime Ministers of India. His tenure with the SPG led to his elevation to the rank of Inspector General within the group, recognizing his expertise in high-level security operations. In February 2024, his deputation was further extended for a year beyond May 2024, underscoring his continued contributions to national security.
