Shri Rahul Sharma IAS (Jharkhand 1998) given extension in upgradation of the post of Joint Secretary to the level of Additional Secretary in Cabinet Secretariat for a term up to 07.11.2026 by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
Shri Rahul Sharma, IAS, is widely recognised as an accomplished civil servant whose career reflects depth of experience, clarity of vision and a commitment to public service. With an academic foundation rooted in excellence — a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from IIT Kanpur followed by an M.Tech in Building Sciences from IIT Delhi, both with First Division — Shri Sharma entered the civil services equipped not only with technical expertise but also with an analytical mindset that has shaped his administrative journey.
Over more than two decades, Shri Sharma has contributed significantly across key areas of governance such as finance, planning, education, taxation, rural development, tourism, human resources, and land administration.
