Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh IAS (UP 1991), has been appointed as Deputy Director General (DDG) (joint Secretary level), Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, on lateral shift basis, from Department of Heavy Industry, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for the balance period of his overall five year central deputation tenure upto 15.102017 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Raj Sekhar Vundru, IAS (HY 1990).
Shri Singh has rich and varied experience in the field of public administration and governance issues by virtue of his more than 20 years experience in various Government departments like Land Revenue Management and District Administration, Environment and Forests, Youth Affairs and Sports, Urban Development, Labour and Employment, Human Resource Development, Agriculture and Cooperation, Water Resources etc. He is credited with introducing many innovative schemes having path breaking results in various districts of Uttar Pradesh and Agriculture Marketing Department of Uttar Pradesh. He served as the Chairman of the board of Scooters India Ltd. from May 15, 2013 to Feb 23, 2016. He has been a Part-Time Official Director of Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd. since December 22, 2014. He served as a Director of Tide Water Oil Co. (India), Ltd. since January 29, 2014 until April 22,2016. He served as a Non Executive Director of Andrew Yule & Company Ltd. until April 7, 2016. He has been Part Time Official Director of Engineering Projects (India) Ltd. since joined in November 30, 2012.
He is B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering & has done Masters of Technology in Thermal Engineering from IIT Delhi and a very keen knowledge of chess and music.
