POWERGRID has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RRVPNL, a momentous event graced by the presence of Shri R K Singh, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy, Shri Bhajanlal Sharma CM, Rajasthan and Shri Pralhad Joshi . The signing ceremony witnessed the participation of Shri R K Tyagi, CMD POWERGRID, adding significance to the occasion. The purpose of the MoU is to establish a Joint Venture company dedicated to the development of an intra-state transmission system in Rajasthan. The proposed equity participation in this venture is set at 74% by POWERGRID and 26% by RVPNL.

This strategic collaboration aims to facilitate the phased development of projects within the state of Rajasthan, with a substantial financial commitment of up to ₹10,000 Crores. The Joint Venture company will spearhead initiatives to enhance the intra-state transmission system, fostering efficient and reliable power transmission within the region.

By combining the strengths and resources of POWERGRID and RVPNL, this partnership is poised to contribute significantly to the growth and sustainability of the state’s transmission network. The phased approach to project implementation ensures a systematic and well-managed progression, aligning with the overarching goal of enhancing power transmission capabilities in Rajasthan.
