NTPC Bongaigaon echoes “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” on 75th Independence Day

NTPC Bongaigaon joined the rest of the country in celebrating the 75th Independence Day Celebrations on the theme “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”celebrated across the country following COVID protocols. Shri Subrata Mandal, ED, NTPC Bongaigaon hoisted the National Flag and took the salute at the ceremonial parade by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

In his address to the employees and their family members, Shri Mandal highlighted various achievements of NTPC Bongaigaon and said India is a nation with “Unity in Diversity” and NTPC Bongaigaon also celebrates this rich cultural diversity of the entire North East.

NTPC Bongaigaon has excelled not only in many areas of Operations and Maintenance but also has created a positive image in the entire power map of the state and the nation, he added. He congratulated and thanked employees, Deptts. and various partners associated with NTPC Bongaigaon for constantly making the station vibrant and engaged. Shri Mandal urged all to work as one team and bring laurels to NTPC Bongaigaon and the region as a whole by benchmarking various practices and taking new initiatives for the improvement of the station in multiple areas. He highlighted the fact that the station achieved its highest ever daily generation of 18.25 MU at 101.3% PLF on 18th March, 2021.

He expressed his satisfaction that NTPC Bongaigaon withstood and overcame several challenges arising due to Covid-19 pandemic and continued to perform efficiently in various O&M areas. Laying stress on vaccination, he said NTPC Bongaigaon conducted  6894 RAT Tests, vaccinated 2311 persons in 15 vaccination camps which includes people from nearby areas.

The CISF wing of NTPC Bongaigaon enthralled the entire gathering by the  various stunts performed by the contingent showcasing their skills and defense expertise.

Shri Subrata Mandal, ED, NTPC Bongaigaon along with senior officials of the station and CISF presented HOP Meritorious Awards to 36 employees from various departments for their outstanding performance in their respective fields. CISF and DGR officials, contractual workers from Safety and Hospital and Indian Coffee House were also awarded by Shri Mandal in the presence of Shri Umesh Singh, GM (FM and Maintenance), Shri D.P.Patra, GM (Operations), Shri H K Brahma, Commandant, CISF and senior officials of the station.

Departmental Heads, Colleagues and employees from various Depts., Unions and Associations, CISF, DGR Security Services Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club and Welfare bodies of NTPC Bongaigaon, family members were present on the occasion. Winners of Yoga Day Celebrations and Environment Day Celebrations 2021, comprising employees, family members and children were felicitated on the occasion. COVID Warriors who contributed to the prevention of outbreak of the pandemic in the station were also felicitated during the ceremony.
