National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), an Enterprise of Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India has entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited (TRIFED) for commercialization of technologies developed by TRIFED for utilization of minor forest produce (MFP) of Tribal population of India.
‘Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation Of India Ltd, a Govt of India Organization under Ministry Of Tribal Affairs is mandated for socio economic development of tribals through promoting marketing and research of MFP, procured and value-added by the tribal people in pursuit of their livelihood. TRIFED has been engaged in the development of through various R&D organizations of the country for utilization of minor forest produce (MFP) to high value products. There are number of technologies developed by TRIFED which have commercial potential and NRDC will market these technologies and license to the entrepreneur/ industry for commercial utilization. Through this partnership TRIFED and NRDC shall empower the tribals through technological interventions.
