National Research Development Corporation, an Enterprise of Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi (NRDC) organized a one day international seminar on “Technology Transfer as a Tool to Optimise IP & Innovation”

Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, Scientific Advisor to Defence Minister & Director General, Missiles and Strategic Systems, DRDO, Govt. of India, Shri B.N. Sarkar, Scientist “F”, DSIR, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India,  Dr. H. Purushotham, Chairman & Managing Director, Prof. Prabhat Ranjan, Executive Director, TIFAC, New Delhi, Dr. Marc Malandro, Vice Chancellor for Technology Management & Commercialisation, University of Pittsburgh, Christopher Laing, Vice President for Science & Technology, Science Center in Philadelphia, Dr. Dhanpat R. Agarwal, Founder Director, ITAG Business Solutions Ltd, Kolkata and Ms Michiko Enomoto, Head, UN-APCTT, New Delhi has jointly lightened the inaugural function lamp.

Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy has given the inaugural address to the delegates and other dignitaries has given their presentations regarding the program. A special address was given by Dr. Marc Malandro.

Dr. H. Purushotham, CMD, NRDC  informed that the corporation is  serving the nation for more than six decades in development, promotion and commercialisation of technologies emanating from R&D organization, PSUs and academia. It has so far licensed technologies to more than 4800 entrepreneurs/ companies in the country in almost all sectors of industry and provided technical and financial assistance for filing about 1700 patents in India and abroad. NRDC connecting the technologies to start-ups.

In the occasion of this seminar NRDC inaugurated its bi-monthly English magazine “Invention Intelligence”.

Dr. Yatin Karpe, Associate Director, Office of Technology Transfer, Lehigh University, USA, Mr. Christopher P. Molineaux, President & CEO, Life Sciences Pennsylvania, USA speakers provided the lecture for promoting industry-university partnership.

Dr. S.Guruprasad, Chief Controller R&D, DRDO, Govt. of India, Dr. K.S.Kardam, Sr. Joint Controller of Patent, Design & Trade & Dr. Raj Hirwani, Technical Advisor, CSIR-URDIP gave their presentations on “Technology Transfer as a Tool to Optimise IP & Innovation”

Seminar ended with summarizing and planning for next step of partnerships for innovation, IP & technology transfer in country.
