NLCIL kick starts Women Foot Ball tournament at Neyveli-Indian Bureaucracy

NLC India in collaboration with NLC Town Club organizing “Women Football Tournament” (college level) from September 21st to 26th, 2017 at Bharathi Stadium, Neyveli, as part of the “Mission XI Million,” a vision of our Hon’ble Prime Minister to popularize the Football Game by reaching out to at least 11 million Boys and Girls in 12,000 schools spread across 37 cities in 29 States.

This tournament is also designed to spread awareness on hosting of FIFA Under-17 World Cup Tournament by India from October 6 to 28, 2017.

In this Women Football Tournament teams from 7 colleges from various places such as MLA College, Bangalore, Ethiraj College, Chennai, Bishop Heber College , Trichy,       St Joseph College ,Cuddalore, Lady Doak, College, Madurai, M.O.P Vaishnava,   College ,Chennai and  Annamalai university   are participating.

The tournament was inaugurated by Shri.R.Vikraman, Director (HR) in the presence of Smt S.K Acharaya, President, Neyveli Ladies Club & Sneha Opportunity Services.

Speaking on the occasion Shri R. Vikraman said an active participation in Games has a positive influence on social life, self-esteem, and even academic performance.  Over the years the perception of women in sport has changed considerable. He appreciated all women football players for involving oneself in sports and coming forward to play tournaments in this era of social media and internet influence.  Shri M. Rajasekar, ED / SME & Mines felicitated the occasion.

Shri P.Babu, GM/Civil ,Secretary  Town Club ,Shri J. Peter James GM/CSR,                Jt.Secretary, Town Club, other Office  bearers of NLCIL Town Club  and Representatives of Trade unions, Welfare Associations , Employees participated  in the event.
